Description
This is a barn located about 15 metres north of Fields End, dating from the early 18th century, with some early 19th-century extensions and late 20th-century repairs. It features a timber frame set on a coursed rubble plinth, with rubble gable ends and parts that are weatherboarded, all beneath a corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of seven framed bays arranged north to south, with a central threshing floor. There are full-height doors leading to the threshing floor, which are flanked by lean-tos on the west side, facing the farmyard. The east side includes a possible horse gin at the north end, which has one canted corner, and to the south end, there is another framed structure of three bays, likely a former cart shed. The side walls of the barn are framed with one square panel over one rectangular panel high, supported by straight tension braces.
