Description
West Lodge of Garnstone is a lodge built around 1806, likely designed by John Nash, with extensions added in the late 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a slate roof. The building has a square plan with the entrance located on the north side and an extension to the south. The main stack is situated on the south wall of the original section and has a rendered chimney shaft.
The west front is two storeys high and includes a plain parapet above a moulded cornice, with pilaster buttresses at the corners. Each floor has a window with two four-centred lights, each set under a square head with a square label. The entrance on the north front is marked by a single-storey porch that has a plain parapet. The outer arch of the porch is four-centred and continuously chamfered, while the side walls each have a blind lancet. The main house, Garnstone, was demolished in 1959.
