Description

This is an early 19th-century mile post located on the east side of Hereford Road in Weobley, Herefordshire. It is made of painted cast iron and has a triangular shape with a sloping top. The top of the mile post features the inscription "WEOBLEY/ PARISH." On the left side, it indicates "TO/ HEREFORD/ 10/ MILES," while the right side states "TO/ WEOBLEY/ ½/ MILE." The base on the right side includes the maker's name: "HEREFORD/ GEORGES/ & SON/ FOUNDRY."
