Description
This cottage, located about 250 yards east-north-east of Coxall, is likely from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with some later alterations. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame with plaster infill. The roof is tiled and has an external sandstone stack at the west end, which includes a bread oven, topped with a brick shaft. There is also a brick stack at the other end. The building has a rectangular three-bay plan that runs roughly east to west and is one storey high with an attic.
On the north elevation facing the road, there are two ground floor windows: a three-light early 20th century casement on the left and a contemporary two-light casement on the right. Slightly to the right of centre is a ledged door. The south elevation features three late 20th century gabled dormers and various scattered 20th century casements. The interior was inaccessible during the last survey in April 1986, but it was noted to have heavy ceiling beams and framed cross-walls.
