Description
Coxall is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century to early 19th century, with later extensions. It is constructed of brick and features a Welsh slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a rectangular plan, facing south, and is two storeys tall with an attic. The south elevation includes three windows that are glazing bar sashes with cambered heads. There is a central attic light in an open pedimented gable, which has a semi-circular-headed sash. The central entrance features a six-panelled early 19th-century door with a fanlight above.
On the north side, there is a large extension added in the late 19th century. Inside, the farmhouse boasts a four-flight oak staircase with half-landings, square section balusters, carved tread ends, and turned newels. The doors throughout are six-panelled and fielded. The main room on the ground floor has a fireplace that may date to the early 19th century, featuring a flat three-centred head made from two rows of brick voussoirs. There are two additional early 19th-century fireplaces made of cast iron, each with raised baskets and enriched borders. The attics contain two late 19th-century cast-iron fireplaces.
