Description

46 Barnby Gate is a pair of houses and a shop, dating to around 1800, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of brick with a pantile roof and has dentil eaves and two gable stacks. The front has two storeys and a two-window range of glazing bar sashes with segmental heads. The ground floor features an off-centre, segment-headed half-glazed door with an ogee scraper to its left, a sash window to the left again, and a mid-19th century shop window to the right, with a pilastered wooden surround and cornice, containing a six-pane window. The building is included on the list for its group value.
