Description

F. Stubbs and Hairdresser is a house that has been converted into shops and a store, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble, with some areas rendered and colourwashed, and features a concrete tile roof. The building has two gable stacks and a single ridge stack, and it is two storeys high with four bays, arranged in an L-plan.

The windows are flush mullioned casements. Number 9, on the left, has a 20th-century shop window and a door to its right, followed by a blocked door and another shop window. Number 11 features a flush mullioned casement and a panelled door with an overlight to its right, followed by a shop front with a modillioned hood on gabled brackets and another shop window. Above these, there are four mullioned casements. The west gable has a 20th-century casement on the right, while the east gable has a blocked window above to the left.

The rear elevation includes a 19th-century addition on the left, which is two storeys high and has two bays, built of coursed squared rubble with a slate roof. To the south, there is a plain sash window, and above it, two sashes of different sizes. To the right, there is a recessed bay with a 20th-century lean-to porch, and above this, a small 19th-century glazing bar casement.
