Description

The barn range and pigeoncote at Low Farm date from the early 19th century and are constructed of red brick with pantile roofs and dentillated eaves. The barn is two storeys high and features additional two-storey and lower outbuildings, along with a two-storey pigeoncote that projects at right angles from the right side of the barn. The barn, which has been heightened, includes from left to right a blocked doorway under a segmental arch, a single small blocked opening, a doorway with a wooden door, two doorways under segmental arches, and a doorway with double doors. Above these, there are two window openings under segmental arches and a single diamond ventilation pattern. The barn has six tie plates and extends at a right angle with three sets of similar ventilation holes.

To the right, there is a lower wing with a carriageway that now has a flat head and two small openings above. Further to the right is the two-storey plus attic pigeoncote, which features brick coped gables. This structure has from left to right a small arched doorway with a wooden door, a single small slatted opening, a doorway, and a single small blocked arched opening. Above is a doorway under a segmental arch, and in the attic, there is a central wooden gabled dormer with pigeon holes above wooden slats. The interior contains brick nesting boxes with ledges on all four sides of the first floor. A lean-to supported on brick piers with ashlar bases projects from the entire front of the building.
