Description
No. 5 Chapel Lane is a house with an attached outbuilding, now functioning as part of the house. It dates from the late 17th century, with some 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of limestone rubble and features a very steeply pitched pantile roof with a central ridge stack. It is two storeys high with a garret and has four irregular bays.
The central doorway is adorned with a 19th-century wooden porch and a partially glazed door. On either side of the doorway are single 20th-century casement windows with wooden lintels. There is a remnant of an older wooden lintel above the window to the left. The outhouse bay to the right has been incorporated into the house and features a 20th-century sliding sash window with a broad wooden lintel. Above, there are three irregularly placed sliding sash windows, with the middle one being larger than the others. The interior is noted to have no significant interest.
