Description
Castle Farm Stable Block, outbuildings, and an attached cottage date from the late 18th century. The buildings are constructed of coursed limestone rubble and feature pantile roofs. The stable block is two storeys high and has five bays. On the left side, there are plank stable doors, a fixed glazing bar window above, and a wooden lintel. To the right, there is a blocked window followed by a doorway with plank stable doors, a wooden lintel, and a fixed glazing bar window above. Another fixed glazing bar window is located to the right, with a tall, blind arch beyond that contains a plank door and a fixed glazing bar window above. There are four curved triangular openings above. The south gable has blocked dovecote openings.
To the right, there are single-storey outbuildings with two plank stable doors, each with wooden lintels and fixed glazing bar windows above. There is a single glazing bar sash window to the left of the left doorway and a similar window to the right of the right doorway. The cottage has a stone-coped south gable and a gable stack. It is two bays and two storeys high, with a doorway on the left featuring a partially glazed door and a wooden lintel. To the right, there is a 20th-century casement window with a wooden lintel, and a small 20th-century window further to the right. There is also a lower 20th-century extension to the left.
