Description

Stable Cottage and attached outbuildings are early 19th-century stable buildings that have been converted into a cottage and outbuildings, with some alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed from dressed sandstone and feature a slate roof with brick stacks. The buildings have an L-shaped plan, consisting of a two-storey long range with five windows and a shorter range to the right with two openings.

To the right of the long range, there are two segmental carriage arches, and to the left, there are two replacement doors with divided overlights, along with a 16-pane top-opening window at the far left. The first floor has four similar windows, including an original pivoting 16-pane window to the right, all featuring painted stone sills. The openings have flat arches, except for the carriage arches.

The shorter range includes a plank door beneath a divided overlight to the left of centre, with a 16-pane pivoting window with a stone sill to the left, both having keyblock wedge lintels. There is also a lifting door above. Some openings to the right have been slightly altered with 20th-century lintels. The building has coped gables and shaped kneelers, with stacks located at the end left and centre of the long range. A gable-end weather vane is present on the short range. This structure was formerly part of the stableyard associated with Hutton Hall.
