Description

The gateway at Fillingham Castle dates from around 1775 and is possibly designed by John Carr. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a large central pointed archway. On either side of the archway are battlemented projections, each containing a single lower round-headed niche and a single upper cross-shaped opening. The structure is currently overgrown with ivy.
