Description

The garden gateway to the Agent's House, formerly known as the arched gateway southwest of Ivy House, is a Grade II* listed structure located on Denton Main Street. This gateway dates from the mid-17th century and has undergone minor alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a semi-circular headed design with a raised keystone. The gateway is flanked by rusticated pilasters that support a cornice, a pulvinated frieze, and an entablature, which is topped by three ball finials with panelled bases. The gateway is currently blocked, and embedded within the blocking is a 19th-century stone seat.
