Description

Netherhall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with 18th century and early 19th century additions and some 20th century alterations. It is constructed from coursed ironstone and limestone rubble, with ashlar dressings. The building features steeply pitched pantile roofs with raised stone coped gables and four gable and a single ridge red brick stacks.

The right side of the front is a single storey with attics and consists of five bays. The earlier central block is slightly advanced and taller, topped with a steeply pitched roof. There is an off-centre planked door with a plain wooden surround, to the right of which is a two-light mullioned window. To the left, there is a similar three-light window and a small fixed light with a moulded stone surround. Beyond that is another fixed glazing bar light with a wooden lintel. The early windows feature chamfered mullions and moulded stone surrounds. Above, there are two 20th century gabled stone dormers, one of which is set through the eaves and has two-light glazing bar casements.

The street front combines two gabled blocks, with the left block built from coursed limestone and dating to the 19th century. This side has a two-storey, three-bay front with a central six-panelled door and a plain overlight, flanked by single glazing bar sashes. The first floor has three similar windows, and the openings on this side are adorned with ashlar hood moulds.

Inside, the front parlour features early 18th century chamfered beams with run-out stops and a butt purlin roof.
