Description
Privet Cottage is a cottage that has also been partly used as a shop. It dates from the late 17th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and features a pantile roof with a single ridge and gable brick stacks. It is two stories high with a three-bay front. The entrance is an off-centre half-glazed panelled door, which is sheltered by a 19th-century lattice porch with a pent slate roof. On either side of the door, there are single three-light casement windows with brick segmental heads. The first floor has two 20th-century two-light casement windows set into the eaves.
