Description
Dunkirk Cottage is a farmhouse built in 1775, with some minor alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and is colourwashed. The roof is made of concrete tiles and features two gable ends with a single ridge and two brick chimney stacks. The building is designed in an L-shape and has two storeys with a five-bay front.
The front has brick dentillated eaves and an off-centre half-glazed door, which is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled brick porch. To the left of the door are two three-light windows, while to the right are single two-light and three-light casements. On the first floor, there are two sliding glazing bar sash windows and two three-light casements, all featuring timber lintels. A datestone marking the year 1775 is set into the gable end. The rear wing of the cottage has a lower mansard roof.
