Description
North House, also known as No. 26, and the left-hand section of the premises occupied by the Electricity Board, is a large three-storey house built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of gault brick and features rusticated quoins and a slate roof. A string course runs between the ground and first floors. The building has three one-window arrangements, with windows set in shouldered stone architraves and cills that continue the string course, which is on tabs. The ground floor windows are framed by shouldered architraves with keystones that extend down to plinth height and enclose labels. There is a passage door to the left, featuring a modified Ionic doorcase in stone. The eaves cornice is adorned with modillions. This property, along with Nos 20 to 26 and Nos 30 to 46, forms a group.
