Description

No. 7 High Street is a building dating from the late 17th century, with an 18th-century upper floor. It is similar in construction to No. 6. The building has two storeys and attics, with a rendered exterior and a stone slate roof featuring two hipped dormers and casement windows with glazing bars. There are three windows with moulded stone surrounds and wide keystones, plus one window to the left over a passage that has a fluted keystone. The shop front, dating from the late 18th century, is notable for its central door flanked by two side doors, although one side door has been converted into a window. The ground floor features two bowed windows without glazing bars, supported by narrow reeded columns of a modified Corinthian style, a plain frieze, and a fluted and moulded cornice on modillions. The central door includes a rectangular fanlight with an ornamental glazed semi-circle. This building is part of a group with No. 4 and Nos. 6 to 12.
