Description
The Grange is a farmhouse located on the south side of High Street in Morton. It dates from the late 17th century, with early and mid-19th century and early 20th century alterations. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with some limestone ashlar, and features Collyweston tiled roofs with stone coped gables. It has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys high with a garret.
The east front has three bays, with a central doorway from the early 19th century that has a semi-circular head, a raised ashlar keystone, a traceried fanlight, and a partially glazed door. This doorway is flanked by rectangular early 20th century bay windows, each with three lights and a transom, where the central light has a segmental head. A veranda roof connects the bay windows, supported by wooden posts on ashlar plinths that flank the doorway. Above the doorway, there are two three-light casements and a single two-light casement, all featuring wooden lintels.
