Description

Sheepwalk Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with 19th-century additions and alterations. It is built from coursed limestone rubble with freestone dressings and features Collyweston stone slated roofs with laced valleys. The building has one storey and an attic, with a cross wing to the southeast and an added lean-to in the angle to the northeast. The original layout consists of four units.

On the southwest elevation, there is an end stack to the left and a ridge stack to the right, which has been rebuilt in red brick while retaining the original moulded cornices and string. The 19th-century entrance is porched and has a corbelled gabled roof that resembles the gabled dormer windows on the facade. The entrance features a glazed, panelled door, and there are two ground floor three-light casement windows along with one 20th-century casement window to the right. The dormer windows have nine-paned hung sashes, and there is one similar attic window. A blocked doorway is located to the right of centre.

Inside, there is a closed string staircase that may have been resited, along with a boxed staircase. The interior also includes sealed open hearths, two blocked windows, boxed ceiling beams, and one deeply chamfered beam with lozenge stops.
