Description

Banthorpe Lodge is a farmhouse dating to the 17th century, which was raised and altered in the late 18th century and again in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a Collyweston slate roof with single gable and ridge stacks featuring moulded cornices. The building is arranged in an L-shape. The two-storey, five-bay front has a centrally positioned six-panel door, flanked by single, canted bay windows with hipped Collyweston slate roofs; these windows are a later addition. To the right of the front door is a further six-panel door, followed by a glazing bar sash window. The first floor has three similar sash windows. All openings have ashlar reveals and plain lintels with keystones.
