Description

The Laurels is a house dating to 1698. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a Collyweston stone slate roof, coped gables, and twin moulded stone end stacks. The stack to the south is inscribed “S over AA 1698,” though the inscription is barely legible. The house follows an L-shaped plan, with a gable end facing the street. It is two storeys high. The entrance is located in an angle and is sheltered by a 19th-century canopy supported by decorative brackets. Each wing of the front facade has one window. The windows are 2-light casements with overlights and leaded panes, with some original windows remaining. A later wing was added to the rear, featuring a stack to its west gable end.
