Description
No. 12 High Street is a house that dates from the early 18th century, with some early 19th century and 20th century alterations. It is constructed from coursed ironstone and limestone rubble, along with red brick. The roof is made of pantiles and features brick coped gables with tumbling, and has a single ridge stack. The building follows a lobby entrance plan and is a single storey with an attic, presenting a three-bay front.
To the left, there is an early 17th century lean-to with brick quoins and a single small 20th century casement window in the north wall. The doorway to the right has a wooden lintel and a partially glazed door. To the left of the door, there is a three-light 20th century casement window with a wooden lintel. The building also features two raking dormers, each with 20th century two-light casements. The north gable end has a three-light 20th century casement window, with another three-light 20th century casement above it, both having wooden lintels. This building is included in the register for its group value only.
