Description

No 58 on High Street is a house from the 17th century, featuring a front added in the late 18th century. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble, with ashlar and brick detailing, and has a pantiled roof with brick ridge stacks. It is two stories high and has three bays, with ashlar quoins. The central entrance has a 20th-century panelled door, flanked by pilasters and topped with a segmental brick arch that includes a keystone. On either side of the door are single glazing bar sash windows in plain surrounds, and there are three similar windows above. Inside, there is a 17th-century curved back fireplace and a beam with shield stops.
