Description

Nos 7 and 9 Church Lane are cottages built in 1836. They are constructed from coursed dressed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, topped by a slate roof featuring two gable stacks and one ridge stack. The front of the building has six bays, with a pair of advanced flanking bays. The cottages are two storeys high.

There are two off-centre panelled glazed doors that are recessed beneath sharply pointed four-centred arches, which have drip moulds and label stops. Between the doors, there are two two-light glazing bar casements. On the first floor, there are four similar windows, and to the left, in the projecting bay, is a small single-light glazing bar casement. All but the last window have flat lintels with raised keyblocks. A datestone dated 1836 is located in the centre of the front at first floor level.
