Description

Donington Fen Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1812. It is constructed of red-brown brick in Flemish bond and features a slate roof with two gable stacks. The building is two stories high and has a three-bay front. The central entrance consists of a two-panel door with a four-panel overlight, flanked by plain sash windows. On the first floor, there is a central blank opening with plain sash windows on either side. All openings have brick segmental heads. The farmhouse also has a cast iron gutter with a lion's head design. This farm was established following the drainage of the area, coinciding with the creation of the Forty Foot Drain in 1812.
