Description

William Dods is a former cottage that has been converted into a shop and office. It dates from the late 17th century and has been altered in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The building is constructed of mud and stud, with some sections underbuilt in brick, and features a thatched roof with raised brick coped and tiled gables. There are two gable stacks and one ridge stack. Originally, it had a lobby entry plan and is a single storey with attics. The front is irregular with six bays, including two planked doors on the right, a single two-light glazing bar sash, a three-light leaded casement, and two single glazing bar sashes, all of which have cambered heads. In the roof, there is a single two-light diamond leaded casement dormer with a thatched eyebrow.
