Description

No. 14 Market Place is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some minor alterations from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with painted stucco dressings. The roof is covered with pantiles and features raised brick coped gables and two gable stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a two-bay front. On the right side, there is a six-panel door with a plain fanlight, wood panelled reveals, and a 19th-century pilastered doorcase that has Gothic decoration and scrolled brackets supporting a narrow leaded hood. On the left side, there is a single margin light. The first floor has two similar windows, and all windows are topped with serpentine stucco lintels that have keyblocks.
