Description
White Cottage at Beck Farm is an early 18th-century cottage that has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of mud and stud, covered in colourwashed brick, with a pantile roof and a single gable stack. The cottage is a single storey plus attics, featuring a three-bay front with a central door that has a brick surround and hood, flanked by single casement windows with brick segmental heads. The roof includes three two-light casement dormers with rendered cheeks and flat roofs, and there is a catslide roof at the rear. Inside, the cottage retains earth fast timber posts with straight braces to the wall plates and ties, which are cut with structural door frames. The floor is supported by a beam that runs parallel to the front wall, and it has a clasped purlin pegged softwood roof. Beck Farm itself is not included in this listing.
