26 and 28, London Road

26 and 28 London Road are two houses dating from the mid-18th century, with the left three bays having been refronted and the right two bays added around 1820. They are constructed of red brick and feature a slate roof with two gable stacks, one on the left from the 20th century and a single ridge stack also from the 20th century. The eaves are overhanging and bracketed, with brick-coped gables that show some tumbling. Slate coping separates the two properties, and there is a rendered plinth.

The houses are two storeys tall, with the right house having two bays set at a slight angle and the left house having three bays. The left side has a single glazing bar sash window, alongside a doorway featuring a panelled door, an overlight, flanking half columns, an entablature, and a slight cornice. Further left is another single glazing bar sash window, followed by another doorway with a panelled door, a traceried fanlight, flanking fluted pilasters, dosserets, and an open modillion pediment. The far left has another single glazing bar sash window. Above these, there are five additional glazing bar sashes, all with cambered flush wedge lintels. The left gable apex is adorned with a sundial.
