Description

28 and 29 St Mary's Street are two houses dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed of grey brick with red brick dressings and feature a plain-tile hipped roof added in the late 20th century, along with a central brick ridge stack. The buildings are three stories tall and have a two-window range.

The front includes sash doors with decorative fanlights on both the left and right sides. To the left of center, there is a 20th-century bow window with a flat roof. To the right of center, a tripartite unhorned sash window with glazing bars is topped by a cambered rubbed brick head. On the first floor, there are two tripartite unhorned sash windows with glazing bars and cambered rubbed brick heads. The second floor features two Venetian windows with unhorned sashes, also with glazing bars and cambered rubbed brick heads. A dentil course runs along the eaves. The left side of the building is finished in knapped flint with red brick dressings, banded at the second floor. The interiors have not been inspected.
