Description
Nos. 34 (The Manse) and 35 on St Mary's Street in Wallingford are two dwellings that were originally a single house, likely built in the late 17th century with alterations from the 18th century. The exterior is rendered, probably over brick, and features an old plain-tile gambrel roof with rendered stacks at the rear. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range.
The entrance includes a six-panel door with a decorative overlight and pilaster strips leading to a cornice on the right side. The ground floor has sixteen-pane unhorned sash windows with architrave surrounds, located to the left and to the right of the centre. There is a rendered flat band between the ground and first floors. The first floor has a twelve-pane unhorned sash window with an architrave surround in the centre, flanked by sixteen-pane unhorned sashes with architrave surrounds on either side. The eaves are topped with a plain parapet, and there are three flat-roofed full dormers, including a horizontal sash window on the left and two-light wood casements in the centre and on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
