Description
Numbers 4 and 5, known as Pettits, are likely two originally separate houses that have been converted into a shop and a dwelling. They date from the late 18th century and feature a late 19th-century shop front. The building has a rendered brick plinth and is constructed of grey brick with red brick dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof and brick end stacks. It is two stories high with a four-window range. There is a four-panel door located to the right of the center, with shop fronts on both the left and right sides. The first floor has four 16-pane unhorned sash windows, each with cambered brick heads. A dentil brick course runs along the eaves. There have been 20th-century alterations to the ground floor, and a 20th-century addition on the left side, which is also made of grey brick with red brick dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. This addition is a two-story structure with a single window.
