Description
Adderley House is a late 18th-century and circa 1800 house, now a residential home. It is constructed of red brick with a concrete tile roof and features five gable stacks, mostly from the 20th century. The brick gables are rendered and have some tumbled copings, with moulded wooden eaves. The house comprises a central two-storey-plus-attic range of four bays, flanked by two-storey, two-bay ranges and a further single-bay, two-storey range to the left, all set back. The central range has a doorway with a panelled door, a fanlight, a small keystone, a panelled reveal, a pilastered doorcase with dentil dosserets supporting an open dentil pediment. To the right of the doorway are two glazing bar sashes, and a single, narrower glazing bar sash to the left. Above are three glazing bar sashes, the central one narrower. The attic has three dormers, each with a single Yorkshire sash. The right-hand range has two glazing bar sashes on the ground floor, a single glazing bar sash above, and a single blocked window opening to the right. The left-hand range has two glazing bar sashes on each floor, and the most left range has a single glazing bar sash on each floor. All sashes have flush wedge lintels. Iron letters bearing the initials W.B and S.B are set into the gables of the main range.
