Description
The Old Office Block of the Land Settlement Association is a Grade II* listed building located in Spalding. This 18th-century house has medieval origins and features early brickwork on the northeast side, along with medieval vaulted rooms at the southeast end. It is believed to have served as the dairy for Spalding Priory. The building is constructed of colour-washed brick with a slate roof and gabled ends, and it stands two stories tall with four bays. The windows are 19th-century one-and-two light sashes with glazing bars, and there is a gabled wing at the rear.
Inside, the ground floor includes some fielded panelling. The southeast end contains two medieval vaulted rooms at ground floor level, located in a single-storey wing that is rendered and has a gabled-ended roof covered with new tiles. This wing also features a small blocked moulded stone window at the south end, with buttressed corners. The vaulted rooms have brick rib vaults with chamfered ribs, although the north room's vaulting has been boarded over.
