Description

THORNHAM MAGNA LAUNDRY LANE (WEST SIDE) TM 07 SE 2/74 The Old Laundry - - II

House. Early C17 and possibly earlier, altered and extended C19. Timber frame, plastered. Thatched roof. Appears as a 3 cell cross passage plan. 2 storeys. Ground floor: entrance to right of centre with a boarded architraved door, to left two 3-light glazing bar casements, to right a brick plinth and a small single light. First floor 2 and 3-light casements. Ridge stack to left of centre between hall and parlour, an added C19 stack on front slope to right or service bay. Right end 2-light casements, pentice board, C19 shaped brackets, exposed purlins. Left end boarded door, 2-light casement, pentice board, exposed plates and purlins. To rear a boarded door in cross passage position, behind service bay a short wing with a steeply pitched tiled roof. Interior not inspected. Formerly known as Spalding's Farm House.
