THORNHAM PARVA MAJOR LANE (EAST SIDE) TM 17 SW 3/100 Church Farm House - 11.3.87 GV II

House. Early C17, altered C19, extended and altered C20. Timber frame, plastered. Thatched roof. 3 cell cross passage plan. 2 storeys. Ground floor: cross passage towards left now blocked, lobby entrance to right of centre in a C20 pantiled porch. 3-light glazing bar casements with hoodboards. First floor smaller 3-light part opening, part leaded glazing bar casements. Rebuilt axial ridge stack to right of centre. Gable end 3-light casements, pentice boards, exposed plates and purlins, an entrance to left. To rear 2 and 3-light casements and a C20 addition to rear right. Interior: originally divided service end, hall and parlour have stop chamfered axial binding beams, chamfered mid-rail, framing concealed and altered. First floor traces of a 6-light diamond mullioned window. Collars clasp purlins over hall and service bays, butt purlins over stack and parlour bays, reverse cranked windbraces throughout.
