Description

The Bull Inn is a public house that dates back to the late 16th century, with parts that were demolished and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame that is partially cased in brick. The building consists of three bays or one and a half cells, and it was originally a larger structure that extended further to the left. It has two storeys and an attic. The former central entrance has been blocked, and there are two and four-light flush frame glazing bar casements. An early 20th-century hipped tiled verandah supported by timber uprights runs across the ground floor.

The right gable end has an original external stack that tapers to the rear and is now part of a one-storey addition with wavy bargeboards. The left gable end has been rebuilt with colourwashed Fletton bricks and features an entrance towards the front, along with a 19th-century external stack that has multiple offsets. There is a two-light glazing bar casement with a segmental head in the attic, and exposed 19th-century plates and purlins. At the rear, there is a continuous lean-to outshut on the ground floor, and the first floor has two-light glazing bar casements.

Inside, the ground floor has altered exposed framing, with the two bays to the right likely being the original parlour. This area features a complex double ovolo-moulded axial binding beam and mid-rails at the ends, while a partition to the left has been removed. To the left, there is an ovolo moulded axial binding beam. On the first floor, there are stop-chamfered binding beams and arched braces to the tie beams, although the roof has not been inspected.
