Description
This is an early 19th-century terrace of six houses, numbered 27 to 31 Boston Road. The houses are built of red brick and have a modern roof of cement pantiles. They feature two brick stacks. Originally, there were four windows to each house, each with curved stone lintels and keystones, although the windows lack glazing bars. A stone string course runs as cills. The ground floor has two windows to each house, while number 31 features a bowed window with glazing bars, wood pilasters, and a cornice. The houses have a rendered plinth faced with coursed stone. The doorways are flanked by plain stone pilasters; the doorway to number 31 is wider, with a rectangular fanlight and inset foot scrapers within the imposts. The doors themselves are of six fielded panels, with glazing to numbers 27 and 31. Stone rusticated quoins are also present. The houses form a group with numbers 7 to 37 (odd) and number 41.
