Description

The Handley Memorial is a Grade II listed structure dating from 1850, designed in the style of an 'Eleanor Cross' by the architect Boyle. It features a plinthed base supporting a standing figure sculpted by John Thomas, all beneath a pinnacled and crocketed canopy. The memorial includes two tiers of canopied niches that house small statues, reflecting 14th-century architectural style. The memorial commemorates Henry Handley, who was born in Sleaford in 1797 and passed away in 1846, and was a Member of Parliament.
