Description
Nos 52 and 54 Southgate are early 18th century buildings that stand two storeys tall with attics. They are constructed from coursed stone and feature a pantile roof with stone verges, along with one brick and stone chimney stack. The buildings have two later dormers with hung sash windows that include glazing bars. A moulded stone eaves cornice adds to their architectural detail. On the façade, there is one window set in a moulded architrave, two modern casement windows, and a 19th-century oriel window with a panelled base, which is positioned above a flat-arched carriage entry. The ground floor has a modern shop front. The rain-water head is dated. Nos 50 to 54 Southgate form a group.
