Description

These are two 18th-century buildings on the east side of Southgate. They are two storeys in height and built of coursed rubble, with a pantile roof and brick stacks at the gables. The top floor has three windows with flush frames and hung sashes containing glazing bars. The ground floor has two windows with stone lintels, later fitted with wooden transoms and mullions dividing the windows into four lights, and casement windows. A plain wooden eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. A modern shop front is present. There is a passage to the left. These buildings, together with numbers 51, 53A, and 67 (odd), form a group of buildings of group value.
