LEADENHAM RECTORY LANE SK 95 SW 3/22 The Rectory (formerly listed as The 20.2.85 Old Rectory)

Rectory. 1565, late C18 and late C19. Coursed limestone rubble and ashlar slate roofs with ashlar coped gates and bracketed wooden eaves. 2 large moulded ashlar gable stacks. Flush ashlar quoins. East entrance front, late C19. 4-bay, 2-storey. Off-centre doorway with 6 panel door and rectangular overlight, moulded door surround with flat hood supported on brackets. To the right a single glazing bar sash, and to the left 2 similar sashes. Above 4 similar sashes. The west garden front late C18, 5 bays, 3 storey, has cen- tral doorway with double glazed doors, flanked by single tall glazing bar sashes. To the right is a large C19 canted bay window with plain sashes, and to the left a smaller glazing bar sash. Above, 5 glazing bar sashes, that to the left being smaller. Above 4 small glazing bar sashes. All windows have flat ashlar lintels with raised keystones. On the south gable wall is a doorway with a lintel inscribed 'JOANNES DEE 1565'.
