Description

The lychgate, built in 1897, is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, ashlar, and timber. It features a fish-scale tile roof with gablettes and a lead ridge that is topped with a tall ornate iron cross. On either side of the lychgate are low walls made of coursed rubble with ashlar coping. The structure is supported by chamfered timber piers and beams with curved braces. It has a pair of wooden gates decorated with trefoil designs. Inscribed on the inner lintel above the gate is the phrase 'In memory of John Reeve 1897'. This lychgate is included in the listing for its group value only.
