Description

The lychgate dates from 1897 and is constructed of limestone ashlar with a wooden frame. It has a hipped roof, a bell cant, and plain tile covering, distinguished by ornate ridge tiles and a finial. Low, parallel stone walls with chamfered tops support the wooden structure, which incorporates lower straight braces and low, panelled openwork gates. Curved upper braces, those on the west side, bear an inscription commemorating Queen Victoria’s Jubilee and the year 1897.
