Description

The Rectory is an early 19th-century building situated on the Preston Ridlington Road. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, topped with a slate roof. The main front is a three-by-two bay arrangement. The first floor features two sash windows within cased frames. The ground floor has similar sash windows, but without multiple glazing bars. Flanking the central two-storey entrance section, which has a room above and a parapet, are the sash windows. A first-floor ashlar string course runs centrally. A central sash window is located above the entrance, which has an ashlar lintel. Two sashes with stone lintels and cills, alongside two blocked-in windows, are present on the left and right returns. The building has two ashlar stacks and ashlar quoins.
