Description

Archway Cottage is a cottage, originally two dwellings, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is located on the east side of Main Street, Preston. The cottage is two storeys high, with access to the rear via a porch. The left-hand side features a three-light casement window above two casement windows; one is a single-light window and the other is a two-light window, with stone sills and lintels. A timber-clad section over a passage contains a single three-light casement window. The right-hand side of the cottage is a much-altered late 18th-century structure. A brick stack rises above the left-hand range of the building. The building has group value.
