Description

Number 83 Wellington House is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of Main Road, Washingborough. The house is built of red brick with a slate roof and features two gable stacks. It is three bays wide, with a central doorway, which has an original half-glazed door set within an ornate wooden trellis porch, topped with a bell-canted lead roof. Flanking the doorway are single glazing bar sashes; above are three similar sashes. All windows have rusticated stucco lintels. Attached to the front of the house is a low brick wall constructed of ashlar rubble and featuring chamfered ashlar coping. A set of spearhead railings and a matching central gate are set atop this wall. The interior includes a turned baluster staircase.
