Description
No. 10 is a terrace house built around 1820, located on the south side of West Cliff Road in Ramsgate. The building is constructed of white stock brick, with the ground floor rendered and a slate roof above. It has three storeys and a basement, featuring a parapet and chimney stacks at both ends.
On the second floor, there are two wooden casements, while the first floor has two French windows with gauged heads. The basement and ground floor are designed with a bow shape, and there are simple iron rails above the bow, serving as a balcony for the first floor. The bow features glazing bar sashes, and to the right, there is a multi-panelled and reeded door topped with a rectangular fanlight that has geometric tracery, accessed by a flight of four steps. The left side of the basement has a glazing bar sash and a half-glazed door. The steps and basement area are enclosed with simple rails.
This building is depicted as it was originally constructed on Collard and Hurst's 1821 map of Ramsgate, alongside Nos. 8, 12, and 14, which are collectively known as Wellington Place.
