Description
No. 50 Vale Square is a house from the 1840s, rendered with a slate roof. It has two storeys, a basement, and a garret. The building features a plinth with giant Ionic pilasters supporting an entablature adorned with two small pediments. The double pitch roof has stacks located at the rear left and rear right. The front has a regular arrangement of windows, including three margin light sashes on the first floor, with the central one being smaller, and two full-height margin light sashes on the ground floor. There are also double four-panelled doors in a projecting late 19th-century porch, which includes mullioned sidelights and a rectangular fanlight, all featuring painted glass, along with a pulvinated frieze and pediment above. The basement has an opening to the right, and there is a glazing bar sash in the garret on the return elevations. This house is part of J.C. Eddel's development of Vale Square.
